Our cherries come from GLOBAL GAP certified orchards of Western Turkey, from the regions renowned for their delicate cherries, where warm winds from the Aegean sea sweetens the fruits. The farmers pick them very early in the morning, when it’s cooler, so cherries maintain their firmness during the storage period.
They are quickly transferred to the processing center, before the browning of their stems, to go through hydro cooling, which reduces their core temperature down to 2 degrees Celcius in 30 minutes. This helps cherries retaining the best quality possible during shipment and on the shelf for a longer period.
Once cherries arrive in our processing centers, the top-notch technology kicks in. We use Unitec’s Cherry Vision 3.0 for a very simple reason: Excellence
Passing beyond the capabilities of even the most skilled human eye, the system detects both outside and inside defects, as it is equipped with a large number of very high-resolution cameras, which view 100% of each cherry.
The system provides unmatched reliability in the sorting of cherries according to multiple parameters, so cherries can effectively be divided into different classes. In combination with high-performance color selection, we are able to deliver the exact quality our customers are asking for.
